(A) Routed Cargo
Ocean Carrier Nominated by Customer.
Shipper/Consignee/Agent Selects the Ocean Carrier,
Sefco pays the selected carriers freight charges.
Agent receives copy of carriers rated B/L, any related charges.
Let us know the name of the ocean carrier you want us to book the space with, and we'll handle the rest.
Our service: Booking with carrier, processing of US export docs, basic export management and coordination.

Pricing support: Upon request Sefco will check and confirm
current charges from the available ocean carriers.
Sefco's quote will include Shipping/Handling and Export Docs.
Vessel sailing info, carrier rate/surcharge verifications, and space availability search require that the cargo be real/ready to go (for booking & shipment within 30 days). The unit(s) make/model/year and VIN number(s) should be provided to Sefco.
New booking requests and export/import support services are handled for our current Sefco Export customers (known shippers/companies/persons). Customers with regular and on-going bookings can benefit from a multiple booking discount off the US doc processing cost, determined on a case by case basis.

pricing inquiries and/or advance preparation for an export/import shipping consignment to happen some time in the future (beyond 60 days),
require a retainer ($250 min) to establish bona fides, initiate handling and start our business relationship.

Handling of non-commercial, personal property shipments (HHG/PE, other personally owned cargo)

A non-refundable deposit is required for all new bookings/service requests. Should a firm carrier booking be cancelled there
is a Booking Handling Fee of USD 300.00 min per shipping unit for the account of the ordering party,

Forwarding Policies & Procedures
Should cargo measure/description differ from that booked with the carrier,
the rate quote will need to be reworked and based on actual measure to include any additional freight and handling surcharges.
The selected carrier terms/conditions,
policy and procedures, apply to all bookings.
FFW US Export Freight Forwarding Docs
Sefco can provide a rate quotation
for a consolidated rate, including processing of the required US freight forwarding ExDocs, SSL ocean carrier freight fees and surcharges, shipping & handling.

Shipment handling:
There is a time component to the handling of export/import management, beyond issuance of documents.
P/E (personal property) requires additional time/effort, therefore requires additional handling.
The duration of a project can be long, in terms of: from time booked for export, through to arrival and release at destination.
Complex projects that require additional time/effort beyond normal ExDoc issuance/handling, will attract an additional handling fee based on the time/effort required.
Unless otherwise specified the starting consulting rate for specialized project support begins at USD $50 per quarter hour excluding additional local support services.
Commodity Guidelines:
Carriers and service providers (ocean carriers, inland truckers, customs brokers, other)
are geared toward servicing repetitive commercial cargo accounts.
One-time shippers (with personal property and/or with no previous bookings) may be rejected by carriers based on the commodity.
Preparation
and diligence is required before and after booking with the selected carrier,
and issuance of basic US export docs.
In all instances cargo must be non-hazardous, clean, not leaking oil/fluid, correctly described
(clearly readable packing list, weight/measure, harmonized code for commercial commodities, value for export declaration purposes) and properly packaged for export.
Cargo booked with a carrier that stipulates units be S/P self-propelled, must be operable.
All rates are Port to Port, unless otherwise quoted in advance.
Local services on both ends - pickup/delivery, any destination customs requirements, remain the responsibility and for the account of the cargo principal (time/expense/arrangement).
